Years ago, when I was just getting started, I found a template for a personal website on the internet. At the time, I was very, very much a beginner, but I managed to update this small website and I deployed it to S3 and served this site from there.
After some time, I learned proper web development and ported that website over to use React, but kept many of the original CSS, etc. I continued even using part of the original JQuery code... If I could only go back and explain to myself what a mess I have created 🙈
While 2020 was not the greatest year, it gave me enough time to clean up this website and redo it from scratch.
I have so much fun building this website and it helped me to find a more solid footing on several technologies like Gatsby, Styled Components, and TypeScript. Also, something that I am really happy about is that I started writing unit tests for the page. I have always held the belief that testing your code is a skill that really can set apart a good developer from an average one. I was so happy when I finally got the hang of it.
I hope you enjoy browsing through this website. 💆
